Canadian country music singer from Lethbridge, Alberta (b. October 22, 1940). Started singing at age 9 and her career really kicked off at age 14 with four years as a singer for The Rodgers Brothers Band. At 19 she sang for Webb Pierce on a small tour which led him to bring her to Nashville to record "Leavin' On Your Mind" in 1959. It was the first of many hits in US & Canada for Joyce and would later become a hit for Patsy Cline when she covered it in 1963.

Awards and honours include:
• Inducted into the Alberta Country Music Hall of Fame in 1991
• Alberta Women of Country Music ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ in 2004
• Inducted into the US National Traditional Country Music Hall of Fame in 2007
• Inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 2010
