Bolshie was one of the first Japanese punk bands. They formed around May of 1978 and played their first show in August of 1978 at S-Ken Studio, sharing the stage with Friction. All of the band members were teenagers who were still in high school. The band was short lived and broke up in 1979. During their short existence they changed sound a bit. They started as rough punk only, but later added synth and keyboards while keeping their punk sound. Their last live show was at Shinjuku Loft on August 5th of 1979.
