Paranga

Effective period / Period of releases: 1983

Members: Galvão Frade, Pio Filho

Brazilian freak folk caipira band, formed in São Luiz do Paraitinga, SP, in 1975, from siblings of Elpídio Dos Santos.
Outgrown of a family affair to homage their father, the group was marginally connected to the Lira Paulistana movement of the late 70s/early 80s, with Rumo, Arrigo Barnabé, and Língua De Trapo.
It has become a collective responsible for the rural revivalist Carnival of their hometown.
