Νίκος Διονυσόπουλος
Real name: Νίκος Διονυσόπουλος
Nikos Dionysopoulos is a researcher and editor of music publications. He has carried out systematic musical research missions in many parts of Greece (and outside Greece, where there are Greek or Greek-speaking communities), with the aim of recording, electronic archiving, studying and publishing the musical material.He directs the Music Publications of the "University Publications of Crete", giving examples of high sound and musical quality, ethnomusicological prestige and editorial care. With these publications, he has received an award from the Academy of Athens in the field of Letters and Arts (1992), and the Panhellenic Union of Music and Theater Critics for the best discography (1999).
He has also edited series of music publications of various associations or bodies.
One of the pioneers of digital sound recording and sound processing technology in Greece (since 1984), with specialization in the field of digitization, processing of archival audio material, noise reduction, restoration of historical discs and recordings.
He has been the executive of several research music programs, responsible for organizing musicological conferences, regular contributor to state (and "free") radio and television, and has written articles in the magazine and daily press (he is a regular member of the "Panhellenic Union of Theater and Music Critics") .
