Botswana was a Portuguese short-lived post-punk band based in Porto, it was formed in 2010 by vocalist João Pimenta from Green Machine and by Marco Castro, on guitar and Igor Domingues on drums, both from the power duo Throes, later joined by Sofia Magalhães on bass, in January 2011 they released the EP "Attila Atlas" on OU! Records, João Chaves joins them not long after for electronics, in June Sofia leaves the group and is replaced by João Brandão, former bass player in the hardcore group Killing Frost, then Chaves also leaves and Cláudio Tavares joins them as their second guitarist, the group gives their last concert in 2012 as the members other musical projects take precedent.
