Erson Calvin 'E.C.' Beatty, Jr. aka E.C. Beatty from Charlotte North Carolina, Born October 3rd 1927 in Lincoln County, NC. E. C. inherited a great love for music from his mother and taught himself to play numerous instruments. He wrote, recorded and published many songs, most notably 'Ski King' in 1959. Over the years, he performed in bands and as a solo act playing country bluegrass and rock n' roll music. He was most alive when entertaining people with his music and story telling. In later years, he performed around the Charlotte area in retirement homes and rehabilitation hospitals to entertain the residents.
