Roddy McNeil

Real name: Francis Joseph O’Neil

Effective period / Period of releases: 1968

Traditional Scottish singer born 1943 in Bellshill, Scotland. He won the popularity prize in the 1968 at Cerbul de Aur (Golden Stag) Festival in Brasov, România.
After a long career which included singing for the Swedish monarchy as a child and later touring with numerous artists including Dusty Springfield, Roddy McNeil ceased performing in 2000. In the years following, his passion for music continued through vocal tuition.
Married with two sons, he settled on the South Coast of England.
Roddy McNeil died peacefully on the 22nd of November 2016 after a long and brave battle with cancer.
