Real name: José Antonio Lazo Santana

Venezuelan salsa composer. José Lazo (b. February 17 th, 1945, La Guaira), also known as Cheo Palmar, began his musical career as singer with Conjunto Sorocaima, following with Los Dandy and Andres Y Sus Estrellas, with the last one traveled to Colombia where found inspiration to write perhaps the most famous of his most than one hundred of compositions, "Pensando en Ti", a single recorded first by Los Satelites and after that by Dimension Latina and become in a success on the voice of Oscar D' León.
In 1970 founded his own orchestra Las Estrellas Latinas after that experience he join to Cosa Nostra Band, his last acting on stages.
Disapointed about multiple circunstance around the business, Lazo decided to take the retire way. For years worked at Maiquetía airport, the first Venezuelan airport. Recently, Lazo was invited by Cheche Mendoza and his son Andy Mendoza, to join once more to Los Satélites as musical asesor.
