The initial project for Ithaca NY based multi-instrumentalist Jasper Swayze. First undertaken as an attempt to blend sounds from two realms: abstract electronic music such as Autechre and Oval, and lo-fi/minimal rock music such as Pinback, Low, Duster, and The American Analog Set. Over time, the project developed a signature breaks and guitar sound featuring prominent ambient interludes and sampling.
The project was fueled almost entirely by live loop-based improvisation as apposed to extensive tracking or use of software, and recordings were mostly in mono. Samples regularly incorporated include snippets of early 2000's children's music and educational computer programs as well as short films, field recordings, old records and youtube junk.
