Formed in Albany, New York, during the summer of 1973 by vocalist Robin "Roddy" Hall, guitarist Chris Gray, multi-instrumentalist Randy Cohen, classically-trained viola player Boris (aka Boris Policeband); later joined by bassist George Scott and new vocalist Stephen Barth. Jack Ruby made only five studio recordings and played an equal number of gigs between 1973 and 1977. Their music was never released until years later, their signature tune "Hit and Run."
