Die Alten was a German New Wave Band from Reutlingen, named after the "The Old Ones", cosmic gods in the works of the horror author H. P. Lovecraft. Die Alten gigged the South German scene between 1982 and 1984 and released 3 demo tapes. The permanent members were Barbara (voice, keyboards), Schilli (bass) and Schneller (Guitar). The position of the drummer changed frequently and most of the gigs were played with a drum machine.
In November 2013 after a 30 years' pause the composers of Die Alten, Schilli and Schneller, decided to reactivate the band. In Kevin Kehoe, an irishman living in Germany, they found a matching successor of the old singer Barbara.
