Real name: Thanassis Skordalos

Cretan artist [Singer, Cretan Lyre, Composer] he was born at Spili St. Vasiliou, Rethemnos, Crete, Greece. First cousin of Γεώργιος Μαρκογιαννάκης
Along with Κώστας Μουντάκης they are considered two of the best lyra players who contributed the most to Cretan Music.
He wrote the well known: Μόνο Εκείνος Π' Αγαπά (Σπηλιανός Συρτός) / Ώσπου Να Ζη Ο Άνθρωπος

He was a self-taught Cretan Lyre player beginning at the early age of 9. He gave live performances in Crete, Athens and in most of the countries where one could find Cretan immigrants like the United States, Australia, Canada, Africa. He collaborated with Γιάννης Μπερνιδάκης, and made his first recording in 1946 with Ιωάννης Μαρκογιαννάκης in Lute.
He died on 23 April 1998 at the age of 78 years old.
