Real name: Lucile Lavern Johnson

American songwriter, mostly lyricist and singer.
Born Oct 26, 1907 Tukwila, Washington, USA.
Died Jun 5, 1987 (age of 79) New York, New York, USA.
Married to composer/conductor/pianist Ray Carter and wrote lyrics to his music.
She sang in Broadway musicals and Billy Rose's Diamond Horseshoe club. During World War II she toured with the USO overseas. She had a 45 single release as Lucile Johnson-Ray Carter and [the] Masqueraders, "All Right, Louie, Drop the Gun / I'm Laughing Up My Sleeve" by Star Records and "Hansel and Gretel" by Uncle Henry on Adventure Records in 1949.
The couple charted as songwriters with "All Right, Louie, Drop the Gun" by Wesson Brothers in 1949, landing at #11.
