Danish singer, guitarist and songwriter born on May 28, 1955 in Brabrand, Denmark. A major female vocalist in various settings in Danish pop and rock since the middle of the 1970s.

Started her singing career as teenager in the all-girl band De Fem (appearing on record in 1970 as It's So Easy) before joining all-female rock band Shit & Chanel in 1972 with a.o. Anne Linnet. Sørensen soon established a career as one of Denmark's most popular backing vocalists, backing a.o. Gasolin', Gnags and especially Sebastian (5). In January 1977, her mother died, which left some emotions to be resolved that affected songs, such as "Stille Før Storm" from Stjerne Til Støv.

After Shit & Chanel dissolved in 1979, she became part of Anne Linnet Band with Linnet and Sanne Salomonsen. In 1983, she released her first solo album Himmelen Ned På Jorden, followed by a number of albums in her own name over the years. Sings on the charity single Afrika from 1985. Her solo album Hjerternes Sang from 1989 is a commercial high point that has sold 350,000 copies in Scandinavia. In 2001, she was part of the country band Cowgirls with Sanne Salomonsen and Tamra Rosanes.

Linnet's husband Holger Laumann was Lis Sørensen's music teacher in primary school at Engdalskolen in Brabrand. Went to high school at Århus Statsgymnasium, and graduated as music pedagogue from Det Jyske Musikkonservatorium. Married to Jan Sivertsen from 1999 to 2017, with whom she has the son Sylvester Sivertsen.
