At the core of this group is Malian singer Tom Diakite. He sings in the Peul and Bambara languages of the Wassoulou region, his voice rising from quiet tenderness to vigorous urgency over the funky bass tones of his ngoni hunters harp and the cascading elegance of his kora. From London comes guitarist Sam Mills, tastefully supporting Diakite with his subtle playing. Filling out the trio's sound are the able hands of percussionist Djanuno Dabo from Guinea-Bissau.
