Real name: Rodney Leon Brasfield

American comedian.
Born 2 August 1910 in Smithville, Mississippi.
Died 12 September 1958 in Martin, Tennessee (age of 48).
He was prominently featured on the Grand Ole Opry from 1947 until his death in 1958. He formed a double act in 1948 with Minnie Pearl, delivering alternating punch lines and neither one playing the straight man.
In 1987, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame.
