At the time of his singles for Strut, Hank Price III was a 16-year old junior at Adamson High School in Dallas, Texas. He released six singles locally on the Strut label, and a collection of all the sides was released as an LP in the Summer of 1964, about the same time started his own television show, and began classes at North Texas State in Denton with a major in music. He was born on October 19, 1945 in Oakland, California and moved several times before settling in Dallas. He wrote his first song when he was 12 years old, a tune called "Waiting" which is among his recordings.
