Jan Jakub Bokun Free Music

Jan Jakub Bokun

Polish clarinetist and conductor.
He studied the clarinet with Mieczysław Stachura at the Wrocław Academy of Music (diploma with distinction in 1997) and continued his studies with Guy Dangain at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. In May 2001 he received the Master of Music in Conducting degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, where he studied with Larry Livingston and John Barnett. In the same year he was awarded a fellowship to the American Academy for Conducting at the Aspen Music Festival, where his principal teachers were David Zinman, Jorma Panula and David Robertson. The following Summer he received a scholarship which enabled him to study with Kurt Masur and James Levine at Verbier Academy in Switzerland.
