Hailing from Detroit, the late Professor Alfred Bolden was heralded and regarded as the World’s Greatest Gospel Organist. He was considered a national legend in the Golden Age of Gospel He was a recording organist from the 1950s to the early 70's. He mastered the organ with the way he set the drawbars and expression pedal, the timing in which he controlled the Leslie speaker switch, the way he utilized his left and right hand chord structures, accompanying soloists, and his solo ability. He played for the late Rev. Charles A. Craig and The Voices Of Tabernacle. He also accompanied Rev. James Cleveland, The Gospel Chimes, and several other gospel music artists.
