Born on 02.01.1929 in Spartanburg, South Carolina, U.S.A.
Died on 21.06.1997 in Hamilton, Bermuda.

Brother of tenor sax player Red Prysock.
Best known for his live shows and his baritone influenced by Billy Eckstine.
Between 1944 - 1950 he was the main singer of Buddy Johnson's band.
From 1952 he started a successful recording career for Decca.
In 1965 he recorded for Verve Records, his collaboration with Count Basie.
In the 70's, he had several disco hits, produced by John Davis (5).
