Real name: Svein Haftorn

Svein Haftorn (1925 - 2003) was a Norwegian zoologist, ornithologist and professor. He published more than hundred scientific articles, several magazine articles and popular scientific books about birds. His grand work «Norges fugler» came in 1971. Haftorn was one of the initiativtakers behind Norwegian Ornithological Society. In 1960 he released a series of 8 reel-to-reel tapes with bird sounds and comments.
