UK Liverpool-based group formed in 1976 by Ian Irvine (gtr/v), Patrick Colohan (gtr/v), Dave Gough (b/v) and Steve Plumber (d). After making their live debut in summer 1977 at the Hope St. Fringe Festival, The Moondogs built up a growing cult following with the incendiary renditions of Chuck Berry and Gene Vincent oldies. In 1978 Plumber was replaced by Tony Dolman
