Jerker Leijon

Real name: Jerker Karl-Axel Leijon

Swedish composer, choir leader and church musician, born 20 April 1956 in Tråvad, Skaraborg County, died 25 November 2009 in Onsala, Halland County.

He was particularly known for his work with beginner choirs. He started in 1988 with the "Kör-för-alla-rörelsen", where big performances in Gothenburg's concert hall became a reality for a large number of amateur singers in the western parts of Sweden. He wrote the methodology book "Kör för alla" for choir directors when he got tired of hearing people say: ”I can't sing”.
