George was recognized by the New York chapter of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences as an MVP as follows:
1982, Flute and Oboe, 1981 Oboe; 1980 Flute and Oboe.

Perhaps George's most recognizable playing is the recorder in the opening few bars of Bob James - Theme From "Taxi" (Angela) / Caribbean Nights.
