Kittie is a Canadian metal band formed in London, Ontario in 1996. When Mercedes Lander and Fallon Bowman met in gymnastics class and realized they had similar music interests, Kittie was born. Mercedes' sister Morgan Lander joined the band, and Tanya Candler completed the initial lineup. They recorded their first full-length album in 1999. Before shooting their video for “Brackish” and joining Slipknot on tour, Tanya left to go back and finish school.

Talena Atfield joined in time to tour behind Spit. Around mid-2001, Fallon left the band due to management issues. Kittie released Oracle and became a big hit. In 2002, Talena left the band due to issues with their label.

To replace Talena, Jennifer Arroyo was asked to join. A year after releasing their Safe EP, Kittie announces new guitarist Lisa Marx to fill in permanently. This seemed to be the lineup as they released the accomplished, mature, third Kittie album: Until The End. But Lisa and Jennifer left in February 2005 due to further label struggles.

In September 2005, Kittie announce new members, Tara Mcleod on guitar and Trish Doan on bass. They released Funeral For Yesterday the next year. In March 2008, Trish left the band due to health issues, and bassist Ivy Vujic joined. Ivy remained in Kittie through two albums until she made an amicable split in 2012, and Trish returned to the fold.

On February 11, 2017, bassist Trish Doan passed away at the age of 31

Despite the previous doubts of the Lander sisters, it was announced in January 2022 that Kittie would reunite to perform on all three days of the When We Were Young festival, scheduled to take place in Las Vegas, Nevada on October 22, 23, and 29, with Vujic returning to the band on bass for all three dates.

After the announcement of the October performances, the band was added to the Blue Ridge Rock Festival at the Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia on September 8, 2022. Morgan Lander has stated that, although nothing is set in stone, she believes the band will continue performing in 2023.

Current lineup:

Mercedes Lander - Drums and Backing vocals
Morgan Lander - Guitar and Lead Vocals
Tara McLeod - Guitar
Ivy Vujic - Bass
