Members: Yann Cariou, Roland Conq, Pierre Le Toux

Kurun (Thunder in Breton) is originally a trio (title of their first album in 1996). It was at the initiative of Yann-Fañch Le Coz that Yann Cariou and Roland Concq met in 1995 to found Kurun.

The following year, they record their first album, in public. Pierre Le Toux joins them in percussion.

These three musicians, Cornish, draw their repertoire in the Dardoub and Aven countries, with some influences of the Loudia and Asturias countries. They are also influenced by other music, such as jazz or Indian music. Their particularity is to blend, harmoniously and effectively, tradition and improvisation.
