Allen McQuhae
Real name: Charles Allen McQuhae

Irish-born American tenor vocalist (born 1890 at Bray, County Wicklow, Ireland - died July 2, 1960 in Corpus Christi, Texas, USA)Trained as a civil engineer, McQuhae emigrated first to the United States in 1909, then moved on to Canada to work for the Canadian Pacific railroad. After becoming a naturalized U.S. citizen, he served in the U.S. army during World War I. While working as a cabaret singer in New York City, he was discovered and started a professional career as a concert singer who was promoted as "the next John McCormack."
In 1921, McQuhae recorded briefly for Edison; between 1922 and 1929, he recorded more than 40 titles for Brunswick. He became so popular that he was featured on radio's "Atwater Kent Hour."
