Distinguished georgian conductor, born 26 May 1935 in Tblisi, Georgia. In 1985 was honored as "People's artist of USSR". His orchestra has travelled over the world since 1971. Last 20 years of his life Mr. Kakhidze has governed Tbilisi State Opera and Ballet Theatre.
