The Strawmen

Members: Rob Irwin, James Tucker, Andy Jones (16), Ross Douglas (2)

The Strawmen were a Sydney-based post-punk outfit between 1984 and 1988, releasing two albums "...a Gideons and a .303" (mini LP, 1985), and "Inland Sea" (LP, 1986), as well as recording material that was released as a compilation during the 2010's.
A further compilation LP of material was released on the SEA record label.

James Tucker (Lead guitarist) went on to found Melbourne improvisation outfit, Plankton.
Rob Irwin (Bass player) went on to join Sydney pop group Even As We Speak.
Ross Douglas (Second guitarist) went on to form Barra, dDarkwater, and later on, Stromatilites, together with Tucker.
Andy Jones and Nick Nicolaidis, the two drummers on the recording sessions also performed and recorded with a number of other bands including Young Docteurs, and Throwdowns.
