Eddy Fort Moda Grog

Real name: Eddy Fortes

Cape Verdean hip-hop MC, born June 4th, 1950 in Mindelo, São Vicente, Cape Verde Islands, raised in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, he was a member of Cabo Funk Alliance, performing with lyrics in Cape Verdean Creole.

A pioneering artist in the realm of kriolu rap, Eddy, Eddy G or Edd FMG released two albums on cassette in the early nineties and an EP "Hoje è quel dia" on CD in 1995. He later relocated to Antwerp, Belgium where he is currently based.

He also featured on the 2005 "Criol Na Coração" album by Luxembourg based Cape Verdean rapper Kodé, on "Fidju Di Kriolu" in 2011 by French-based La Mc Malcriado and he performed alongside Dutch rapper Yes-R at the 2007 Delfshaven Festival in Rotterdam. His greatest hit was a single "Materialista" (Portuguese for materialist), which samples LL Cool J's "Loungin (Who Do you Luv Remix)".
