Real name: Arvid Johnson

Effective period / Period of releases: 1964 - 1968

Red was a local country musician in Minnesota. He maintained a professional country music career, performing and recording in Minnesota and in Nashville. He also worked as an electrician contractor. Red was born September 14, 1932 in Flint, Michigan, but spent most of his life in Champlin, Minnesota. Red passed away May 18th, 2017.

Red served in the Air Force during the Korean war in England where he played with the "Southern" boys and honed his skills. After his discharge he began playing professionally and did until the end. Red's biggest hit was "There's a Grand Ole Opry Show Playing Somewhere" which was picked up by Capitol Records. Red was a charter member of the Country Music Association Member of the Rock & Country Hall of Fame and the National Traditional Hall of Fame and Country Music's Book of Who's Who (1966 and 1970) and the F A M E (Families Advocating Moral Entertainment) Award.
