Real name: Stephen Sidney Gateley

Sid was a Black Country man, born in the town of Wednesbury in the West Midlands, UK. Sid moved from the West Midlands to South Devon, and in the 1970's formed his own band, and later became the full-time Musical Director for Pontins south west region.He also appeared regularly at the Royal Albert Hall and enjoyed an appearance on Sunday Night at the London Palladium. He made several recordings for the Pye record label before the band disbanded in 1989.
On Saturday 3rd February 2018 Sid Gateley passed away after a short illness.
