Renata Rosa is a singer, poet, music researcher and actress from Brazil.

Musician, Renata Rosa was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil, in 1973. She is one of the artists responsible for the evolution of the maracatu, a traditional carnival parade from northeast Brazil,in which dance, improvised poetry and music are included. Some of her studies are focused on coco, work chants and traditional Catholic chants such as Benditos. She manages to present Brazil’s musical roots in a modern guise, celebrating widely unmown facets of Brazilian music culture.
