André Didier
In 1946, the first important ethnomusicological mission in Afrique équatoriale française (French equatorial Africa), la "Mission Ogooué-Congo" gathers André Didier, teacher at Conservatoire national des arts et métiers, expert in sound and image recording, the ethnomusicologist Gilbert Rouget with explorer Dominique Gaisseau to go down the Ogooué River in Gabon.
They recorded more than 600 dub plates of Bantu and Pygmy music.
