Ralph David Abernathy
Real name: Rev. Ralph David Abernathy, Sr.
Ralph David Abernathy (1926-1990) succeeded the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. as president of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference. He and Dr. King led the famous Montgomery, Alabama bus boycott of 1955-56. He was pastor of the West Hunter Street Baptist Church in Atlanta beginning in 1961.
