Celestial Season started as a doom/death band (most notably on Solar Lovers) and then switched to a stoner metal sound on Orange.

After 10 years together, the band announced its breakup in February of 2002, citing their creativity as "fulfilled".

They re-united in 2011 to perform ‘Solar Lovers’ album in its entirety. For this occasion, the band re-recorded the song "Decamerone" and made it available for free download from their official website. The band has remained active since the 2011 reunion. In 2020, they have published the full-length "The Secret Teachings" which sees them returning to the doom metal genre.
