Amsterdamsche Football Club Ajax (pronounced [ˈaːjɐks]), AFC Ajax, Ajax Amsterdam or simply Ajax, is a professional Dutch football club from Amsterdam, The Netherlands, which competes in the Dutch Eredivisie league.

Having won the league title more than any other club in the Netherlands (a total of 35 times), Ajax have also won the Dutch Cup (20 times). as well as the Dutch Super Cup (a total of 8 times). Internationally Ajax have won 2 Intercontinental Cups (in 1973, and in 1995), 4 Champions League titles (1971, 1972, 1973, 1995), 1 European Cup Winners' Cup (1987), 1 UEFA Cup (1992), and 2 UEFA Super Cups (1973, and in 1995), making them one of the most successful clubs in the history of the sport.
