Mother Love Bone

Effective period / Period of releases: 1989 - 2016

Members: Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, Greg Gilmore, Andrew Wood, Bruce Fairweather

The band formed by Jeff Ament, Bruce Fairweather and Stone Gossard following Green River splitting up. They received a lot of attention in Seattle and the beginnings of international interest with the 'Shine' EP. However, as they prepared to release their major label, debut album, the 'Apple', lead singer Andrew Wood overdosed on heroin and died, leaving the band in tatters.

Stone and Jeff joined with Soundgarden's Matt Cameron and Chris Cornell (Andy's roommate) to record the 'Temple Of The Dog' tribute album, which also featured a young Eddie Vedder on some of the tracks. This led, in turn, to the formation of Pearl Jam.
