Impiety are one of the earliest black metal bands on the Asian continent. Originally founded in 1988 as Sexfago, they changed their named in 1990. They were initially formed under the influence of early Bathory, Hellhammer, Sarcófago, Possessed, Morbid Angel, Venom and related old extreme metal bands.

The band are known for their raw power, aggression, fast drumming and violent guitars. They have worked with many of the leading extreme metal labels, including Osmose Productions, Agonia Records, Pulverised Records, Hells Headbangers, etc.

Impiety's line-up was riddled with changes due to hardships of maintaining a dedicated and full time line-up and has taken Shyaithan across the globe from Singapore to Mexico, to Japan and since 2010, in Europe, Treviso, Italy, with a 4-man line-up. Impiety has toured Europe/US/Mexico/Japan/Asia over the years as headliners.
