Real name: Albert Louis Morgan

American piano player and singer, not to be confused with the bassist Al Morgan .
Born November 14th, 1915 Cincinnati, Ohio Died on November 18th, 1989 Maywood, Illinois (74). Al was a popular nightclub singer, pianist and composer. BMI IPI #: 21497004. Studied violin and voice at the Cincinnati Conservatory. Received his master's degree from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. His piano playing was self-taught. He played piano in the big band years playing with Glen Miller and Harry James among others.
Al had a half hour music TV show called "The Al Morgan Show" that ran for two years. He had 4 songs that charted. He had the #1 song in the country in January of 1950 with "Half a Heart Is All You Left Me (When You Broke My Heart in Two)". His cover of the Jenny Lou Carson song "Jealous Heart" hit #4 on the U.s Charts in 1949. Married to Jan Morgan.
