Al Morgan
Real name: Albert Louis Morgan

American piano player and singer, not to be confused with the bassist Al Morgan .Born November 14th, 1915 Cincinnati, Ohio Died on November 18th, 1989 Maywood, Illinois (74). Al was a popular nightclub singer, pianist and composer. BMI IPI #: 21497004. Studied violin and voice at the Cincinnati Conservatory. Received his master's degree from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. His piano playing was self-taught. He played piano in the big band years playing with Glen Miller and Harry James among others.
Al had a half hour music TV show called "The Al Morgan Show" that ran for two years. He had 4 songs that charted. He had the #1 song in the country in January of 1950 with "Half a Heart Is All You Left Me (When You Broke My Heart in Two)". His cover of the Jenny Lou Carson song "Jealous Heart" hit #4 on the U.s Charts in 1949. Married to Jan Morgan.
