Ted De Jong (born 10-02-1954 in Amsterdam, Netherlands) is a Dutch percussionist specializing in the traditional Indian drum, the tabla. In addition to playing traditional Indian music he also was a member of the Dutch folk and world music ensemble Flairck from 1980 until 1985. De Jong has also played with Popol Vuh in the 1980s and 1990s and has frequently collaborated with Klaus Wiese. Since 1987 he has been teaching tabla and Indian rhythm at the Codarts Academy (formerly the Rotterdam Conservatory).
