Real name: Bernard D. Hanighen
American songwriter best known for writing the lyrics to the original composition by Thelonious Monk, "'Round Midnight", and to "When a Woman Loves a Man". He also worked as producer.He also worked with Clarence Williams, Billy Holiday and Johnny Mercer. He was born April 27, 1908, Omaha, Nebraska, and died October 19, 1976, New York, USA.
