The Murphy Sisters
Members: Margie Murphy
1940s vocal group consisting of sisters Margie, Dottie, and Muriel Murphy. Their first professional engagement was with Carl Hoff's big band, when they were only 16, 19, and 21. They soon scored their first hits with "B-I-By" and "You're A Sap, Mr. Jap" (Dec. 1941). In Jan. 1943, they joined Vaughn Monroe's orchestra. In the late 1940s, they recorded under their own name for Apollo Records (2).
