Bill Lowery

Real name: William James Lowery Jr.

Effective period / Period of releases: 1955

US producer, publisher and owner of Atlanta, Georgia's Lowery Music Group. He also owned the Lowery and 123 record labels, as well as a recording studio, Lowery Studio, and publishing company Lowery Music. He was instrumental in the careers of many Southern artists, including Joe South, Billy Joe Royal, Tommy Roe, the Atlanta Rhythm Section, Loretta Lynn, Ray Stevens and The Tams, to name a few. He was the first inductee in the Georgia Music Hall Of Fame, and also earned a place in the Country Music DJ Hall of Fame in 1984; Lowery Music was sold to the Sony Corporation in 1999. Bill Lowery died in 2004.
