Born in the UK in 1942, Zagni played in several UK beat and Progressive / Psychedelic bands in the 1960s.

He was Choir Master at St John the Baptist Cathedral in Norwich between 1971 and 1977

He moved to New Zealand in 1980 and has worked with Don McGlashan and Steve Garden.

His work since includes spells as Composer in Residence with The Auckland Philharmonic and extensive soundtrack work.
