The choir was formed by Анатолий Николаевич Чмырев (Anatoly Chmyrev). The choir has collaborated with a number of musicians and composers including Victor Popov, Alexander Sveshnikov, Issak Dunaevsky, and Ivan Kozlovsky. Almost all of the choir's repertoire was recorded at VSG (All-Union Recording Studio). In 1957, the choir participated in the VI World Festival of Youth and Students of Moscow.
