Real name: Anita Marie Pointer

American singer-songwriter, born January 23rd, 1948, in East Oakland, California; died in Beverley Hills, California on December 31st, 2022.
She was a founding member of the vocal group the Pointer Sisters, retiring from the group in 2015. Anita released a solo album in 1987, "Love For What It Is," which garnered a minor club hit with "More Than A Memory" but her biggest success outside the Pointer Sisters was her 1986 duet with Earl Thomas Conley, "Too Many Times," which went to #2 on Billboard's Country charts, was certified gold. It was nominated for the CMA 1987 Vocal Duo of the Year but lost to Ricky Skaggs and Sharon White.
