Me Versus The Monster

Formed in 2003.
Me Versus the Monster quickly jumped into the Washington D.C. punk scene with a unique style of thrashing guitars, strummed bass lines, thunderous drums, and growling vocals. Their first release “Eat.Sleep.Work.Die.” began to gain recognition, and the band started to acquire a loyal following in and around D.C. Also with the help of online distributors such as Interpunk.com the bands fan base expanded. By selling their sound all over the world MVTM’s popularity was growing. After the departure of the bands original drummer in late 2004; the core of MVTM; Adam Meinel (bass) and Tyler Matthews (Vocals/Guitar) decided to push punk rock back to it aggressive roots. After a string of fill in drummers, Me Versus the Monster finally solidified their line up with Jason Dehenzel and began work on their new E.P. , entitled “The Resurrectionist”. Set for release in the summer of 2005 “The Resurrectionist” is a blend of awkward time signatures and straight forward melodies all set on a back drop of dark hook laden lyrics. The first single “Next of Kin” has already begun entering on plays lists for WMUC radio and PunkRadioCast. With the release of this new body of songs Me Versus the Monster hopes to move forward in expanding their original punk sound.
