James Jamerson Jr.

Real name: James Lee Jamerson Jr.

James Jamerson Jr. (b. 1958, Detroit, Michigan, USA - d. March 23, 2016, Detroit, Michigan, USA) was an American soul bassist. He began his career in the late 1960's as a session musician. In the mid-1970's he formed the group Chanson with his long time musical cohort David Williams (4). In the 1980's he resumed playing as a session bassist with various artists including Originals, Karen Pree and Stargard.
Son of James Jamerson and father of Derrick Jamerson.
