Jazz critic, poet and jazz drummer, born December 14, 1945 in Los Angeles, California, passed September 16, 2020 in New York.He took up drumming in 1966 and played with Bobby Bradford, David Murray and others. During the 1970s he taught black cultural studies in California, before moving to New York with Murray, where he became associated with the free jazz community.
